What Your Day Will Look Like

You will focus on designing, building and managing the foundational systems that support our High-Performance Cloud Services. This involves ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our servers and storage solutions. You will work closely with other engineering teams and experts to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.

You will

▪ Design, build, and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure
▪ Utilize tools like Terraform, Helm and Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure.
▪ Connect comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to ensure the health and performance of our infrastructure.
▪ Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and the encryption of data in transit and at rest.
▪ Develop and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to safeguard data and services.
▪ Work closely with DevOps and security teams to ensure alignment and efficiency in all infrastructure-related activities.
▪ Continuously analyze and optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
▪ Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and procedures to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.

▪ Engaging in tasks that do not directly contribute to the infrastructure’s reliability, security, or scalability.
▪ Making decisions without considering data, security implications, or user needs.
▪ Working in isolation without coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Your Profile

▪ Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of server infrastructure (x86 or ARM) and storage solutions (i.e. VAST Data, NetApp, LIghtBits)
▪ Software Skills: Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems and Virtualization.
▪ Networking Skills: Deep understanding of network architectures and protocols.
▪ Security Focus: Proven experience implementing and managing security best practices, including IAM and encryption.
▪ Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
▪ Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points If You Have

▪ Experience with Infrastructure as Code architectures and deployments, including process automation with scripting tools like Bash, Python or Ansible.
▪ Experience with actual metal-based infrastructure in real data centers.
▪ Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
▪ Understand ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or related IT service management frameworks.
